During fishing season, it is not uncommon to see Cutthroats in the 15 to 20 pound range, and rarely, even larger specimens. Many anglers fish from ladders or ladder like fishing chairs,to get a little more up close and personal with the trout. some times this is also a pretty good way to get in the freezing cold water. Many anglers seem to do just as well from the shore with fly gear. Some great fish have been caught by our guests on the rocks just walking distance from us.Catch and release is encouraged so a great number of huge fish have been set free to give a new angler the thrill of a lifetime. A fishing/lake use permit must be obtained from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. The permits cost approximately 10 dollars per day per person. You do not need a State of Nevada fishing license, but the fines are severe for lack of Tribal Permit. Speaking of fees: the cleaning fee we charge is only for stays longer than 3 days,There is no cleaning fee for nightly's. The lake is the remnant of the prehistoric Lake Lahotan which covered most of Nevada millions of years ago. Pyramid Lake is the terminus lake of the famous Lake Tahoe and the two are connected by the Truckee River. Views abound in every direction of the most beautiful desert lake in Northern Nevada. Harsh landscapes of Tufa Rock and desert sunrises and sunsets are a photographers dream, truly unique experience to spend time on the steppes of Northern Nevada There are a number of beautiful locations around the lake which have spiritual significance to Tribal Members that are closed to the public. Sadly, some of these areas have experienced irreparable vandalism and will never be open to the public again. Tribal fines for trespassing on these sites are severe. We provide a map of the lake showing which of the sites are closed.

The kitchen is nice and large, with black granite top counters. it is a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, and anything else you may need to make a wonderful meal. In addition there is a bonus room that is set up as a second living room to enjoy while having a BBQ in the backyard .There is a fenced backyard, big enough to play ball and run around the grassy area.

This home is a great place to have family time and enjoy each others company with 4 bedroom 2 1/2 baths. The master room has Its own private bathroom. Theres also two queen size beds and two teen size beds. Great for kids or just time away with friends. It has a very nice fenced back yard to sit back and enjoy the nice weather. The Thunderbird Resort Club is primarily a fractional ownership resort with some units available for rental through direct booking on our web-site or through major online travel services. We have exceptional facilities in an open, relaxing, family-friendly environment. Our units have full kitchens and complimentary Wi-Fi. Our features include a hot tub and pool, a recreation room and access to massage and spa services. We have scheduled activities such as BBQ events, champagne reception night, and a weekly Continental Breakfast in our Recreation room. We publish a monthly events calendar to allow each guest to plan their stay and take advantage of all we offer. This is a timeshare and I can often book other nights, weeks, and weekends -- I have many nights that I haven't used banked and would LOVE to rent them. The best way to manage them is for the guest to tell me what dates he/she would like, and then I will inquire whether or not I can reserve those particular dates for you. (I do not want to pre-book dates and then try to rent them because if they happen to not rent, I will lose the use of those nights.)
